Why Virginia?

Like Eastern Kentucky, Dickenson County has been hit especially hard by the addiction crisis. ARC's growth in this community will expand access to comprehensive services in a place where we are needed most.

Funding

The project is being funded, in part, by a $4 million loan awarded by the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority (VCEDA). The loan was approved in July 2022. An additional $2 million loan for the project was awarded by the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority (VSBFA).

Location

The facility will be built at 230 Chip Mill Road near Clintwood. The site is part of a parcel purchased by the Dickenson County Industrial Development Authority in 2021.

Jobs

Within its first year of operation, the facility will create approximately 30 new, local jobs with competitive pay and benefits.

Open Date

We are working toward opening Wildwood Recovery Center and accepting clients in late 2023 or early 2024.

Number of Clients

The facility will initially be built to serve up to 112 clients at any given time. The facility will begin as a men’s only facility, but we hope to expand the campus in the future to also serve women.

Program Length

ARC’s entire program includes four phases, and people can stay in treatment for up to 12 months. Wildwood Recovery Center will start out as a phase one program as we develop the other phases on location.

Facility Size

The new, one-story facility will include two, 7,000-square foot administrative buildings and six, 1,900-square foot dormitories

Safety & Security

Being a valued partner to the communities we serve is very important to us. Our top priority is ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our clients, staff, and neighbors in the communities we serve. All ARC residential facilities have security cameras monitored 24/7 and on-site security teams. With more than 30 residential facilities across Eastern and Central Kentucky, we have identified and implemented numerous best practices to operate as safely as possible.

Our team also works closely with local law enforcement and community leaders, and we will continue to maintain open lines of communications with these stakeholders in Dickenson County. ARC encourages open dialogue with our neighbors in the communities we serve. We will always do our best to answer questions and address any concerns you may have.

Since opening the doors to their first residential treatment center in 2010, ARC has served more than 50,000 clients. Wildwood Recovery Center is the company’s first announced out-of-state facility.
